"En fuego" is Spanish for "on fire," and is a noted sports cliche. On Tuesday, there was no description more apt for the Golden State Warriors and shooting guard Klay Thompson through three quarters against the Indiana Pacers.

Thompson buried 10 3-pointers - two off the NBA record for treys in a single game - as the Warriors won 131-123 to go to 23-0 on the season. Adding the Dubs' final four wins of last season, the 27 straight ties the 2012-13 Miami Heat for the second-longest winning streak in league history.

The Dubs also set an NBA record for best road start to a season at 13-0.

All was not perfect, though. At one point, they led the confused-looking Pacers by 30 points late in the third. Thompson sat to begin the fourth, coinciding with the start of an Indiana comeback attempt that saw them outscore Golden State 40-20 in the final frame.

He returned to the game with 5:48 remaining, but exited after hurting his right ankle with less than a minute left.

Thompson's final line was still gaudy: 39 points on 13-for-21 shooting, including 10-of-16 from deep. It helped defray a rare off night from beyond the arc for Stephen Curry, who went 3-for-11 from deep, but still finished with 29 points.

Paul George scored 33 points for the Pacers.
