Patch Update 5 is now available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of NBA 2K16. The patch addresses some minor issues that players were experiencing when playing the game.

NBA 2K16 also updated its player rankings and according to the game, Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry is still the best player in the NBA, Design & Trend reports.

The third best player in the game, according to NBA 2K16 is one of the three cover athletes, James Harden of the Houston Rockets. Harden is rated a 91 overall by NBA 2K16, a one point increase from his last rating.

Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Khris Middleton saw his rating increase the most, going up from 80 to 82 overall. Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic saw his rating decrease the most, going down from an 84 to an 82.

Minor Updates Fix Freezing and Animations The major updates included in the patch were minor.

One update fixed an issue where players were allowed to equip mascot costumes even if they did not have the appropriate rep level in the MyPARK mode.

An animation fix eliminated "ankle breaker" reactions to defenders who were actually in good defensive position.

Some connection and freezing errors were also addressed and fixed in the MyCOURT and Pro-Am Arena modes.

The patch update is available for download now on both consoles.

Though the numbers may say O'Neal led those teams statistically, Bryant proved just as tough a task for opponents to handle. In the 2002 NBA Finals, a 23-year-old Bryant posted a staggering 26.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals to help the Lakers sweep the New Jersey Nets in four games, and earn their third consecutive title.

Dropping 81 on the Raptors

While former NBA great Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game is a number that's all but untouchable, Bryant's 81-point blast on a virtually helpless Toronto Raptors squad on Jan. 22, 2006 may have arguably been more impressive.

The legitimacy of Chamberlain's performance has been questioned on occasion in regards to the true talent level of the team he faced that night. Bryant dropped only 19 fewer points than Wilt against a Raptors team that wasn't one of the NBA's best squads, but was a capable NBA team nonetheless.

He was guarded predominantly by Jalen Rose and Morris Peterson, two decent players who carved out respectable careers in the league. On that night, however, nobody could stop Bryant, who shot 28-of-46 from the field, 7-of-13 from beyond the arc, and 18-of-20 from the free-throw line. Ridiculous.

Who needs Shaq?

As his career progressed, Bryant earned scoring titles, All-Star honors, MVP awards, and a myriad of other individual accolades. But the critics and doubters grew louder anytime he and his Lakers were bounced early from the playoffs: "Can he do it without Shaq?"

It took him seven years without The Big Aristotle, but five games against the Orlando Magic in 2009 silenced his critics once and for all. Bryant averaged 32.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks over the 2009 Finals against the Magic to earn his fourth Larry O'Brien trophy, and most importantly, his first ring without O'Neal.

To further quiet his critics, he won another ring the following year, raising his total title count to five, and all but confirming his eventual place in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Kobe Bryant's farewell season has not gone as planned, with the Los Angeles Lakers dead last in the Western Conference and the 37-year-old currently shooting at an historically bad pace.

Things got even worse on Saturday night, as Bryant was forced to miss the game with a sore shoulder after throwing down his first dunk of the season during the previous contest.

The Lakers were miserable with Kobe out of the lineup, falling 118-78 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, causing head coach Byron Scott to state that he'd prefer if Bryant stuck to layups and jump shots.


"I don't want him to dunk no more," Scott said to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News. "I'll tell him to save it for Game 82. Then he can dunk again."

The 1997 Slam Dunk champion has seen his athleticism dwindle after sustaining numerous knee injuries. After totaling 51 dunks during the 2012-13 season, Kobe has made just nine over his last three years.

However, Scott knows that it will be difficult for him to prevent Bryant from dunking altogether, especially during the flow of the game.

"It's real hard to tell a guy 'Don't dunk,'" Scott said. "That might have been his last one. But he knows himself more than anybody."

The Golden State Warriors are one win away from etching their unblemished start in the record books. A win at home Tuesday against the 2-11 Los Angeles Lakers will bring the defending champs to 16-0 and set an NBA record for the most wins to open a season.

 Kobe Bryant, despite his team’s slew of struggles, is looking ahead with confidence, per Baxter Holmes of ESPN.com. "I've seen stranger things happen," Bryant said. "We’ve been playing like s--t. We might go up there and we might play like gangbusters up there. You never know."

 The Warriors are winning by an average of 14.4 points per game, far and away a league high, while the Lakers are second-worst in shooting at 41.5 percent.

 While Bryant is right that crazier things have happened, the Lakers are far removed from being championship contenders as they rebuild around young players such as D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle. An upset is always possible, but the reality is the Lakers, winless in their last three, are likely to see their losing streak stretch to four games.

Dwyane Wade's final battle with Kobe Bryant will have to wait.

 The Los Angeles Lakers will sit the 37-year-old for Tuesday's clash in South Beach, reports Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.

 Bryant is the first guard in NBA history to play 20 seasons in the league, and given his advanced age and his disappointing start to the season, resting him on the first night of a back to back makes perfect sense.

 Through six games this season, Bryant is averaging 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting airball after airball en route to a ghastly field-goal percentage of 32 percent on the year.

 His poor shooting hasn't stopped him from using 28.7 percent of the Lakers' possessions, however.

 As for his performance, there's the mitigating factor of Bryant's recovery from a torn rotator cuff, but all in all, it's become quite clear that the 17-time All-Star is on his last legs. To his credit, Bryant has not made any excuses for his struggles and openly stated Saturday that retirement is a real possibility after the 2015-16 season.

NEW YORK — Lakers coach Byron Scott asked Kobe Bryant recently how he wants to handle his minutes this season.

Bryant's response was about next season - there might not be one.

Scott said Sunday that was when Bryant first told him this could be his last season in the NBA.

With the 37-year-old Bryant coming off Achilles, knee and shoulder injuries that cut short his last three seasons, Scott talked to him over the summer about how Bryant would be used, particularly when the Lakers played on back-to-back nights.

"We've talked about it a few days ago. Talked about it again and his feeling was, `Coach, this might be my last year. So if possible I would like to try to play every game,"' Scott said.

Bryant hasn't said if his 20th season will be his last. He told reporters Saturday that "if you asked me today, this would be my last year," but that he was leaving it open. His comments Sunday echoed that.

"My message has been consistent all the time. If I change my mind, I'll come back and play. If I don't, I won't," Bryant said. "I've been pretty consistent with that, so I don't know how much, what else can I say?"

 Bryant finished with 18 points Sunday in a 99-95 loss to the New York Knicks in what may have been his final appearance at Madison Square Garden, where he scored his first NBA point in 1996 and set the opponent record with 61 points in 2009.

He is in the final year of his contract and is shooting just 32 percent while trying to regain his form after a calf injury during the preseason.

He shared a long embrace afterward with Carmelo Anthony, who said Bryant remains a tough opponent even while contemplating retirement.

"I wouldn't count him out," Anthony said. "But especially for young guys to be able to be in his presence, and knowing the mark that he left on this game, or that he's leaving on this game, it's a special moment."
